Yesterday I attempted to take both boys out by myself to run some errands. I'm not going to lie I was a little scared. Neither of my boys have been the "fall asleep every time they are in the car seat" type, so...as I am walking into the post office with a double stroller and 2 very heavy boxes to mail out, it occurred to me-I CAN DO THIS!! Of course I needed a little help opening the doors, but I can do this!! I was so pleased with how the boys and I handled the experience and I realized there was never any reason to doubt my ability as these two little boys mom.
So the title of this post, 2 adults, 1 hair chair, and a sling...or wherever we can put the baby, every time (and it hasn't been many) we go out for a meal it really hits me-I have 2 boys that are 10 1/2 months apart! Oh my goodness, what am I going to do? Flashfowards of several large baskets at the grocery store filled with mounds of food and the cost it will be to go to the movies (I mean it is getting out of control these days), and the list goes on and on. But then it really hits me how lucky I am to have these babies and that they are going to be best friends for life. What a blessing that is. Then I start to imagine tee ball and soccer games, who knows, maybe a band, country of course, and how cool it is going to be for these two boys to have each other so close in age.
XOXO,
Jamie

Baby H...and I mean Hunter
Hunter William was born June 17, 2011 at 8:12 a.m. My sweet baby boy was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 19 3/4 inches long. He was oh so perfect from the very start.
2 months after I had Holden was Lewis' 30th birthday. He had a scheduled business trip to Vegas and neither of us had ever been. I felt so anxious that morning leaving Holden that I drank almost an entire bottle of wine before we left at 10:00 that morning...you can see where this is going. Our trip was short and I wanted to make the most of it, but Lewis had to work most of the time we were there. I was left to explore and enjoy some me time. I would never have thought two weeks later we would find out we would be having our Vegas Baby!!
Shocked, to say the least, but happier than ever. Irish twins-I can do this right?!?!? Plus, Holden would have a life long friend.
My pregnancy was good. Luckily Holden was an awesome sleeper. I went into early labor at 33 weeks and was in the hospital for a couple of days, but with medication and bed rest, baby Hunter made it all way to 37 1/2 weeks!! I went to the doctor that day and before we got there Lewis told me we would be going to the hospital that night. I just didn't believe it,but sure enough she told me it was time to go. So we went home to get things ready (it's crazy when you know you are going to the hospital to have a baby), went to visit Natalie McKay in the hospital, went to eat at BJ's...and before we knew it it was 11:00.
We got all checked in and then...time to wait. As we were waiting for H to arrive Lewis was able to get a few hours of sleep, but I stayed up wondering about my new little baby boy. Would he look like Holden? Is he going to be as feisty as his brother? Will I ever sleep again? It was finally time. At 7:05 I started having some very heavy contractions. I had Holden naturally and wanted the same experience for Hunter, so no meds for me. At about 8:00 I knew it was time, one of the perks of no meds, at 8:05 I started pushing an baby Hunter William Harrison arrived at 8:12. What a blessing. He was beautiful. Perfect.
I got to spend some skin on skin time with Hunter, something I didn't get with Holden, and I would recommend that to every mom. I could feel God's love for me and my son at that very moment and I knew all was going to be okay. The nurse forgot to come get Hunter so we got to spend some time with him in the room. My wonderful Husband, mom, and sister were all there to share this with me. What another blessing!! The next morning we were heading home to introduce Hunter to his big brother Holden. Holden seemed unaware that anything that happened. In fact, he was so fascinated by the balloons my mother in law had gotten that he hardly noticed we were there with his future bestie!!
Being a mom was one of the biggest goals I had for my life, and every day I get t experience this it gets better and better.

Jamie
